A very pious Rabbi dies and is called before that grand bais din where his
book is opened.
"You will have to spend a year in purgatory before entering heaven," said
the bais din.
The Rabbi can understand that, after all he is a pious and humble man. So
he sits to one side awaiting the next step.
An Israeli tour bus driver comes in, with his shirt wide open, a cigarette
hanging out of his mouth and foul language coming from his lips. The bais
din welcomes him, and tells him that he will be allowed into heaven.
The Rabbi is a bit concerned, so he questions the bais din.
"I don't mean to question such knowledgeable men as you," said the
Rabbi. "But that bus driver does not appear to be worthy of heaven,
whereas I, who dedicated my life to the Torah has to wait a year. Why?"
The bais din replies: "Rabbi, when you talk everybody falls asleep. When
he drives his bus, everybody on it prays."
