Windows Media Player won't play

Windows Media Player 11 beta was working fine but now, when I click on it, nothing happens. Using "open with" also doesn't work.

I downloaded a new copy and reinstalled it but same problem exists.

I'm thinking this may be related to having used a utility to automatically clean and defragment the registry -- but maybe not.

Did you get any microsoft updates on your computer in between working find and nothing happens? Maybe firewall problem?

Thanks for your response, Chryssi2001 - sorry for my own slow response -- been out of town.

I don't recall getting any Microsoft updates in that time period--at least not installing any. I don't think it's a firewall problem -- I also find I can't click on "Help" in the Start menu -- the same thing happens: a brief hourglass and then nothing.

Did you check with Microsoft window media player troubleshooting?

wmp 11 comes with a nice features. I've installed it, it cannot exit to fullmode from full screen mode. so i have to reboot my comp. anyone can help.

Have you tried a SYSTEM RESTORE to a few days ago when it worked??
