This past week we received a new cable modem from AT and T, I guess the one we were using is a little antiquated!!
Anyway's, we had to install it ourselves, and the company said that if we do it before 31st Dec' they give us a break on our next bill.
So this morning I changed over to the new one, then proceeded to do all that was required, once done, we found that my computer worked fine, but the one my wife ueses (we are both hooked up to the same modem) would not work.
So, my wife then called AT and T, the technician had not heard about these modems being sent out. Anyway, it turned out that the tech couldn't do anything, so suggested hooking up the old modem again, we did this, then neither compter could access the internet!! The technician suggested setting up a date for a technician to come out and fix the problem, this would have been on 2nd Jan'!!!! :(
I then called AT and T myself, this time getting another technician. I asked if he knew about the new modems being sent out, he said yes, so I then explained what had happened earlier, he said he would try setting us up with the new modem. After about a half hour, both our computers were getting onto the internet, and the technician "call out" was cancelled, what a relief, now this guy, if I knew him, I'd have bought HIM a BEER!!!! ;) ;) ;)
