What makes you think that, and which programs in particular?

I have never dial a conection checked in the dial up settings.

so more things u might want to know, i use a proxy server, and i have a external modem connected to a ethernet card to get my conncetion.

Hi jaime

"Getting rid of (uninstalling) AOL through the Add/Remove Programs icon in the Control Panel may still leave some of AOL's settings in your Registry".(Komando.com)

This applies to Win98 and Me but it might shed some light on your problem.
