Outlook Express - duplicate emails

My husband uses Outlook Express to receive his messages from Hotmail. All of a sudden he's getting duplicates of every email regardless of where the email originates. How to correct this?

Click Tools - Accounts and make sure the account you're checking only
appears once. They may not have the same name but could contain the
same login info.

If not works try this:

Quit Outlook Express.
Click Start - Find and then click All Files or Folders.
In the name box type Hotmail*.dbx, and then click Find Now.
For each file that is found, right-click the file, click Rename, and then change the extension to xxx.
Close the Find Files window, and then start Outlook Express.
Click Send and Receive, and then click Hotmail account.

That didn't work, but the problem disappeared as strangely as it appeared. Thanks though for your reply.
