Opera 9 feature - validate HTML code

Not sure if most Opera users already know this or how new or old the feature is, but I just downloaded the latest version of Opera (9.01), and in looking over the features, found that a simple Ctrl+Alt+V will enable you to validate the HTML code of any web page. Cool.

I love Opera!

Pretty sure that's been there since the 8.x releases Harrie - it's in my 9.0 (I haven't done the update yet).

I love Opera too!

Smurfy, I could go on about Opera quite a bit! But instead I'll just state one of my favorite things about it - which is the way you can go to any site with a search box, right click inside that search box, and choose "Create Search." Then, you can also give a shortcut to that page, like "ol" for the OneLook site. From that point on, you can go to the address bar, type ol and spacebar, type your search term, and then it goes there with your search already processed. That's a goodie.

Besides that helpful search feature, I put all my favorite sites in as shortcuts. I just type "cth" and hit Enter, here I am.

Wouldn't mind hearing your favorite features, if you're in the mood! Or anyone else's.

Jeepers, where do I start. Admittedly some of the things I like are in other browsers now but Opera was generally first with them...

I like the zoom - not just a text magnifier.
I used to use the mail component but have resorted to Outlook for now.

Most of the clones about have these features. Probably because they are either open source or have communities of people working on mods/extensions etc.

I'm pretty sure Maxthon has those options. I though Firefox has the URL/Search Alias feature as well.

Smurfy, one thing I really like about the Opera mail client is its automatic notification feature. That's excellent. But I'm not using the client right now, either.

Degsy, I know you're a big fan of Maxthon, plus I've read good things about it. I had a real desire to try it, but like so many other things, I didn't get around to it. I still may just to see, but I'm so happy with Opera, I may not!

So far as I'm aware Firefox does not make it as easy as Opera to search that easily, directly and quickly, with a shortcut. I could be wrong and I'd really like to know if I am, so I could pass it on to many Firefox users I know. I used to use it but have since uninstalled.

One more feature thumbs up! I like "copy to note" a lot, a whole lot. You can save interesting text on any page by selecting it and then doing a right click, next choose "copy to note" (Ctrl + Shift + C). This puts a new note in the Notes folder with that text. And the superb part is - when you want to go back to that particular page, open Notes panel, double-click on the note, and that actual page it was on will be opened again. I find this highly useful. No more.....where the heck did I see that, what site was that? LOL.

I forgot, I wanted to add that no matter what browser you use, the taskbar address bar lets you do some cool things. You can type find, enchilada and hit Enter to search for the term. This lets you go quickly if you're in some app, like a word processor. Any cool search assistants, I like!
