Can't play web videos anymore
I downloaded VLC Media Player to watch some 3d modeling tutorials on my Windows XP-based pc. Prior to this I was able to view web videos such as Google Video. When I tried to view the videos after loading VLC I got a message that said the videos were not available...I removed VLC from my system, but am still unable to view the videos. What else should I check?
PS - the videos work fine from another machine. I've checked my Flash player, it is OK. Quicktime videos work. Windows media player videos work. Last edited by crabtrap; August 11th, 2006 at 04:21 PM. |

Before a system restore, I decided to completely uninstall flash and shockwave, then reinstall. It worked. Back in video land again.

Temporary Fix
Apparently, the fix was only good for a few minutes. Video capability left as quickly as it appeared. Makes me wonder of there's some company filtering thing going on. Ironically, I'm trying to view some tutorial videos...
Edit - further discussions indicate company filtering of Google video site. Sorry to have troubled the community over an internal problem. Last edited by crabtrap; August 15th, 2006 at 07:55 PM. |
