Tried to boot in safe mode and I even tried to upgrade to windows xp and I still can't boot. What can I do?

hi

that is a message you get when an overlay was installed, and the drive gets systemised by the overlay installer. (a procedure which does ask what operating system you intended to install.)

How come?
What happened?

only seven files...
is there a windows folder seen?

what does DIR /s tell you?

Hi again PapaJack
I just looked up your older posts.

Had not seen them before, but that older thread sorta explained what happened (if one reads between the lines).

the machine was "formatted" so your daughter would not have easy access to her ex's data.

it is settled now?
if you still need the data that was once on it for further legal proceedings, I advise you do not use that drive.

or can we wipe, and get that machine going?
