browser idle problem

I've recently reformated my computer only to screw up my MSI mobos sound within 10mins so I just redid it again. After reformating again I noticed that if my computer goes idle (only once has this happened when Not idle), my browser says it cannot connect to the internet and same for all other internet accessing programs, yet all other computers on my network still are able to connect. I turned off the power saving mode that disables network controller when idle and now it still does the same thing with the exception that I can still download files, connect to online radio, play games online, use chat programs, etc. I've tried IE, Firefox, and Opera. I have cable net, router, onboard lan, and zonealarm (browsers not blocked). Same setup as every other previous successful reformats I've done with exact same settings.
