Internet Sites Being Blocked?

Hey guys, sorry, not too sure where to post this


My internet seems to be blocking some sites, such as www.ign.com and www.ebaumsworld.com, i've been told to install Mozilla Firefox, which i have, but these sites are still blocked, i've fiddled around with the internet options and stuff to try and sort it out, but so far nothing

I've also been told to download Spybot - Search & Destroy. which i did, it got rid of a lot of useless stuff, but the sites are still blocked

I'm starting to think it may be because of this "Acceleration Pack" i downloaded a few days ago, http://www.roadside-software.com/downloads/Pack.exe, later on on the day which i downloaded the pack, it hadn't made a difference, so i uninstalled. The blocked sites have only been blocked since i'd installed the pack...

Any ideas on how to get these sites accessable again?

Just a quick check. Check your host file.
You can view/edit it with notepad.
You will probably see an entry like
127.0.0.1 www.ign.com

The below locations are for the default paths
Windows XP = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Windows 2K = C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Win 98/ME = C:\WINDOWS

Nope, i just get 127.0.0.1 localhost
