If you're referring to the first Internet Explorer window and you're using a Quick Launch or a Start Menu shortcut to open it, right click on that shortcut, left click Properties, select "Maximized" in the drop-down list, click OK.
If you're referring to secondary IE Windows: 1. Open IE to a page with links 2. Right click on a link, left click "Open in new window" 3. Resize that new window by stretching it: hover the mouse cursor over a side or corner until it turns into a double-headed arrow then press and hold the left mouse button and drag the edge or corner to the size and placement you want. Do not use the Maximize button since that is a temporary setting IE will forget 4. Close the original window first. This is important. If you do not close the original window first, this will not work 5. Close the window you resized All future secondary windows will open to the size and placement of the window you resized. If you forget and click the Maximize button and then close all IE windows, you'll need to do it all again. |

As Miz said, in secondary windows, i.e. "open link in a new window" you can't get it set to maximise on default, all you can do is have it open to a size equal to maximum, by resizing the 2nd window to your preference - obviously you want full screen size - then close the 1st window then close the resized window - using alt f4 or the cross top right corner. after that all your 2nd windows will be full screen until you resize them and close the program from the resize.
