I recently plugged in my mp3 player, it rebooted itself and it now says looking for hardware. The hardware has now been unplugged but it still searches for the hardware. It says I need to run regscan to rectify the problem, however when I boot the pc up it just stops at the wallpaper screen and I can't do anything, this happens both in normal and safe modes. Ideally i'd like to install a new version of windows but cannot get the disk to autorun and I can't get it to run in windows as it won't let me do anything, any ideas please?. Cheers.
