IE6 Favorites Disappeared & Registry Wont Update.

I have Windows 2000 pro (SP4).

I followed the steps provided in the post at:
http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127730
The problem I'm having is that even tho' I'm making the changes in the registry, it will not stick. As soon as I open IE, it reverts back to C:\WINNT.

Any ideas?

I would check and see if you may have a virus,worm,etc? run a virus scan.If you come up clean? scan disk and defrag. Let us know how you have made out, post back.
