Videos do not play in Opera 9.1

I'm unable to play any videos with Opera 9.1(or any other browser). I get the message about older browser or no flash player. How do I correct this? TIA.

What version of flash do you have installed? I believe the latest release for linux was 7, and most of the newer flash8 formats will not play under flashplayer 7. :/

You can play videos in linux, just not ones that require flash 8.

Download mplayer and the mplayer browser plugins.
