Are you asking if you can install ubuntu on a system where Windows is not installed? The answer there is yes. Other than that, Im quite lost as to the question.

No, actually I dont know what you said, I dont understand and I dont got it. I am not trying to make you either, believe it or not. Obviously, if you installed the programs using windows, and they are windows based programs, they will point to files in windows directories. Thats the problem. If you want help, maybe next time you should be less aggressive... and be clearer on your description of the problem instead of blaming someone who is trying to help you because they cant understand your broken english.

If you have software you need to run in a company, wine is not good enough. If your company will not let you use open source alternatives, I would suggest you purchase windows licenses for the machines in question, and run windows.

some software are designed only for windows, just as others are designed to only run in linux. wine is only an emulator. tell them that it won't run properly

Saying that is just niave on so many levels, I'm 17 and I find Linux very reliable and flexible. Easy to use too. It seems to me you're blaming Linux for your incompetence of .exe formats. The posts above answer your question anyway.
(Of course I still have my elusive Ubuntu Internet problem but that's a different story )

geminiboy, I understand there has been a little bit of a language barrier to be crossed here but I understood your question perfectly and also your attitude.
Let me put it quite clearly for you. Linux is not Windows. Linux is not Mac OS. Linux is not Unix. You can NOT blame Linux for not supporting Windows native executables any more than you can blame Mac O/S for the same inability. Software developers program their software to run on a specific operating system. Because of Microsoft's market dominance, the majority of commercial software developers only spend money developing their code on the platform their customers use. That's called a sensible business model. Good software developers (particularly in the open-source community) design cross-platform code and compile it for multiple operating systems. So you have an application that has only been programmed/compiled to run on a Windows platform. Wine is the free tool to TRY to run Windows executables in Linux. There are commercial implementations such as crossover for business products or Cedega for gaming. If you want to try to get it working using Wine, I thoroughly recommend Franks corner http://frankscorner.org/ which helps set up fake windows directories using WineTools and solves many of the dependency issues you will be experiencing.
