Hi every one long time no see. Does anyone know if I could saftely delete the C:\_restore\temp folder from the system folder. I am running windows ME on this system. Also I would like to reinstall windows me on my puter but I lost my product key for this system . How can I retrieve this key code back- is it on my system somewhere. Any help concerning these matters would greatly be appreciated. Tks. a bunch and bye the way this fourm still rocks.

Hi buddy.. that is your system restore folder.. not a good idea to delete it! You can purge your old restore points if you like though by turnng off sys restore and rebooting.
For your key question... download Aida32 (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download181.html).. that will give you the key. ;)

Tks dammit, for the info on the key program and for the temp folder. Only one ? about the temp folder and that is it has been scanning for about an hour and a half now and still going and all that it is scanning is that folder, with all the files that are being scanned is files like this A0207196.cpy etc etc etc what in the world are these, are these the restore points you were talking about. now I see that it is doing its regualr scan. Howdy:
Temp files are NOT System Restore files.. They are exactly what they say they are "Temprorary Files" and can be deleted..
Just empty your temp folder and then clean out your Recycle Bin!!

Hi all Just a note to inform you that the virus scanner is still scanning the restore temp folder with files contanning A034........etc. but anyway I bought a copy of windows xp pro to install. again thanks. Blackkettle and by the way your support was subperb AS ALWAYS.
