Hello everyone,
I just recently abducted a friends 'broken' old computer (meaning it had windows ME on it), and put windows 2000 on, after much formatting and device conflict solving (apperantly 2000 can't rebalance IRQ like 98 could), however my solution seems to have destroyed the onboard sound.
The computer is a ibm netvista 2254 g06, and thanks to ibm I have all the current drivers and such, but that doesn't seem to mean anything to windows, even though the device (soundMAX) is installed, it doesn't list it as a playback device. I've unistalled, and subsequently re-installed it several times, in every manner I could imagine, and windows insists that "the device is working properly", but it is still not listed, so I cannot use it. I am completely stumped
