Question Cannot find server or DNS Error

HELP!!

I keep getting this error message (CANNOT FIND SERVER OR DNS ERROR) when I try to access most sites. I can browse most sites, but when I try to select another site, especially if I want to buy something etc., I get this message. Any idea why? I am a novice when it comes to computers; however, I did a couple of things I thought would work and well it hasn't. Anyone out there who can give me an idea on what to do would be appreciated. Thanks!

Using Internet Explorer? Check security settings.

In Internet Explorer go to Tools | Internet Options "Security" click on each Globe and hit Default button, then go to "Privacy" and do the same.

Close Internet Explorer, reopen, any better????

Question Didn't work....now what?

Thank you so much for your reply; however, unfortunately, it did not work. I did exactly what you stated and I restarted the entire computer again and it still did not work. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Murf: No, I am not using any kind of firewall. Actually, I'm on an emachine computer, which I am borrowing from a friend because my computer just went out on me. So, I'm borrowing his until I can buy a new computer. In the meantime, I can't even buy my computer on the web because of this error message. Any other suggestions?

Black Mirror: I'm in the process of downloading the messenger, we'll see what happens.

Any other suggestions will be appreciated!

Thanks again!
Liz
