HELP!!!!

I downloaded the free version of AGI 7.1. It said to restart. I did. Now I can't get into windows. If I let it just start normally, after all the normal stuff that comes up on the screen, but before windows, I get "While initializing device SymTDI:" on a black screen with a blinking cursor. I cannot type anything in at that point.

I also get AGI running some sort of scan, but it says there are no viruses.

I tried to get into safe mode, but it either freezes where it says I'm in safe mode, or comes up with a blank blue screen with safe mode in the corners. I also tried to reboot from a disk. It sounds like it's reading the disk, but nothing comes up. I have a CD, can I boot from that? If I do, will I lose everything?

Any ideas?

SymTDI is related to Symantec (Norton). Do you or did you have any Symantec products installed?

I'm not familiar with AGI. What exactly is it?

AGI is another (free) anti virus program. I believe that's the problem. I still had NAV running when I installed AGI. (didn't realize there would be a conflict).

I had to get someone to remove my data and clean my hard drive so I could get up and running quickly as this happened on my work computer.

You should ALWAYS disable your anti-virus when you install any programs. AV is notorious for causing issues if its running when you install any programs. It is especially troublesome when you install other AV software. I usually disable all running programs before installing any software.
