networked printer wont print!!!!!!!!!

Hello
When i try to print documents from pc 1 to printer upstairs on pc 2 it always gives me an error that it cant read the file. it is damaged.. it doesnt matter what format i save it in....


Pc1 has router and both pc can see each other in netwok places.. am i missing something here

well i am going to solve my own problem for once.. i was trying to print MS works files and guess what the pc upstairs hasnt got msw.. so i used wordpad and retried and YES!!!!!!!! IT WORKED

Hi BlackMirror,

That really shouldn't make a difference. It may be because you didn't install the printer drivers on both machines. Some printers require that their drivers be installed on all PC that print to them so that they function fully.

so i should install the printer drivers on pc 1...

should i be able to send a file upstairs and if the printer is on it will print automatically without any input from me????

Still unable to repair lan connection clearing the DNS cache .. dont think its connected
