I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place. I have 2 pcs running win98se. They both have REaltke network cards. TCP/IP is installed, File and print sharing is enabled and Client for microsoft networks. Each PC has an IP and subnet mask set. The pcs are linked by a crossover utp cable. However if I double-click on the Network Neighborhood icon I jest gte the message UNABLE TO BROWSE THE NETWORK. THE NETWORK IS NOT ACCESSIBLE. Just after the double-click on NN I hear a click from the PC, bit like the click the modem makes just before it dials.

I just want the 2 pcs to be linked so that files cane be accessed from with one and the printer can be shared by both. What have I done wrong?

Share at least 1 file folder or drive on each computer by
right clicking on it and and click sharing.
Make sure both computers are in the same workgroup
I think that is in the network connection properties for 98.
Run the internet connection wizard on both computers.
