It's been a while since I last asked the gods for anything.
I have sold my old computer but want to get my personal information out of it. I really don't want to uninsall the win98 or any of the existing programs.
How do I remove my stuff and leave just the programs in....

You could run Disk Cleaner (www.dislcleaner.nl) and clean all your temp files :)
Then you could use REST3123 (http://www3.telus.net/mikebike/RESTORATION.html) (Restoration.zip) it will allow you to TOTALLY DELETE ALL DELETED PROGRAMS (Takes about 13 hours)
Good luck :)

There will still be personel information on the computer.
It is best to get one of the free 'disk wipe' applications, wipe the drive, then you can do the FDisk, Format, Install (if you are sending the 98 CD with the system) and not worry about it.

You are best deleting your data items if the programs are to be used again. Remove all applications on the OS via control panel and program files sector if you want to delete the applications of which your personal data is stored on.
To clear temp/recent/history/LOG/DAT, etc… files, download C.Cleaner here:
