I brought my parents computer to my house to do some work on it, and after hooking it up, was unable to open Netscape 4.7. I received the kernel32.dll in 014f:bff782af error. I downloaded the newest version of Netscape 4.80 but still received the same error. I have checked the service packs for win95 and they are fine, I have renamed the plugin folder, added/removed ram, checked virtual memory file, updated video drivers, removed all instances of Netscape and then scanned the registry for leftovers then reinstalled - same error. I have removed the Temporary Internet folder and recreated it. The netscape site points to a problem with user profiles, but if I completely uninstalled netscape, that shouldn't be a problem should it? And if so, how do I fix it as every time I try to access user profile from start menu I receive the same error.
Thanks
Geezer

It seems that since you received the error message, you have gone and changed several settings, etc.......
at this point, it is next to impossible to guess what is wrong..
sorry, cannot help

Hi rockie99 - Geezer might be right but you could try the fixes outlined here (http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/nspecerrkernel32dll.html#k32)

After many hours of work, I deleted all printers and copied the User00 folder from another system to the problem system. Unfortunately I didn't test opening Netscape after I deleted the printers, so I'm not sure which of the actions solved the problem. I have a tendency to believe that it was the profile folder that fixed it, but then again when doing clean installs of Netscape, a new profile folder should have been created just like it would for a brand new install. Anyway, it is up and working. Thanks for the help
