My brother is in college.. his dorm has on campus wireless connection. But hes on the 9th floor at the very end. and he cant connect to the connection. but hes able to connect at the lobby of the floor. I was wondering if theres anything he can do to be able to connect to the internet. like a lan booster or even a new/better reciever.. he has a laptop with built in LAN finder and connecter.. Some help would really be appreciated. Thanks

The built in WLAN adpators are really annoying... all the antennas are built into the monitor and aren't accessible for an external antenna to be attached. You can get a PCMCIA NIC or similar and then use an external antenna... but if that is supposed to be his internet connection to his dorm room I would honestly recomend he informs the university of unfair service (if he isn't given access with most of the university and it is said somewhere that he should it is unfair service).
