lighting zapped my internet

ok so the otherday it was around 5 in the moring and i was playing around online and it was raning then i heard a loud clap and it was lighting about 5 seconds later my network card started saying that it was being unpluged and repluged in about every 2 seconds. so the first thing i did was i thought that it might have zapped my network card, so that day before work i went and bought a new linksys ethernet card. and the samething happend... so now i have no idea on what to do any help would be AMAZING! thanks

Have you tried the other ports on your router and a different ethernet lead?

ya i tried the other pci ports but i have not tried a new lead. abd in not running a router im directly connected.

Directly connected to a modem? I would try another lead but if you have tried changing network cards I would suspect a faulty modem. Best way to find out is to try another pc/laptop and try connecting it to your modem. If the same thing happens its the lead and/or modem.
