How can I "restore" a 95?

Hi, this post is actually for my mom, she has a Dell 95 computer and is having so many porblems with it. She got her computer from her work place, they upgraded. So anyways, I don't think that the computer was ever "totally" took back to day one even tho the company says they did. She has the cd for Windows 95, I will assume that it is the installation disk. What would be the easiest way for her to restore her computer and is there any way she can save like the cards and emails that she saved into a folder, so that when she does take the computer back to day one she can bring them back on it? I have tried helping her out with this but it is so different from my ME. So, what would be the easiest and less confusing way for her to restore her computer?? Thanks so much! :-)

hope you have the Win95 Recovery CD for this computer;
if so, you should have a choice of reinstalling Win95 without formatting. You may need the floppy start up disk to initiate.

This will take you back to original installation time.
In most cases, files added after original install will not be affected (cannot guarantee that).

If she does not have that cd, how can she get it? What would happen if she just put the installation disk in and went from there?

You might try Dell Support.

It would probably install but you might be missing a lot of your drivers depending on what the installation disk had available to install for you. Windows 98 would probably have most of them if you wanted to give 98 a shot on that computer. Again, don't forget Dell Support, they should probably be able to at least tell you what devices you need drivers for. Does it have any built-in devices like video adapter, sound card, modem, etc?

The manufacturer of your Motherboard Chipset would probably have the associated drivers available for download.

What's the Dell model number?
