Hacker question - moved by Tom
How would I know if I'm being watched by someone else or if theres someone browsing my computer while I'm on it? Because I bought a new comp and I got bored and looked in the inboun events screen in mcafee antivirus and it told me there were sme ip adrdresses trying to access my computer or something of the like(accidentlay restarted the comp and it erased the archives so I cant remember them)But it makes me worried though like how every time my computer refreshes theres someone somewhere that just did somethin.Am I just worryin to much here?
![]() Also I was mad curious about this: What is it that stays on my computer when I "shut it down" becuase I notice a green light on in the comp when I turn it off Last edited by Gforce6@; September 1st, 2006 at 07:17 AM. |

Let's have the folks in the CTH Networking forum provide some input on the access question Gforce6@.

This does a decent job letting you know if someone has hidden anything from you on your computer: http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilitie...tRevealer.html
Make sure you run antivirus/anti-malware immediately. This will let you look at what programs are acessing what ports from/to what addresses: http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/TcpView.html you can use it to diagnose whether or not there is control/remote viewing software installed on your computer... basically you are looking for any conncetions that you didn't initiate... feel free to post a log of it and I/we can help explain what certain software does/is.
