one of my CD drives won't open. I can force it to open, and then i can close it by pressing the button, but then the computer freezes.
Can someone help?

Hiya.
How old is this system? It this just a CD-Rom or is it a burner? Is there another optical drive (burner, DVD drive) in the same system?

How do you "force" it open?

how are you forcing it. The drive just might be going bad, you can try opening the case and check its cables to make sure nothing is loose.
