About a month ago my internet connection started intermittantly failing several times each day. I have determined that resetting my router successfully restores the connection.
I contacted my ISP (roadrunner) to find out if there were problems with my IP address getting reissued too frequently (I had once been told that when they issue a new IP address sometimes you need to reset the router), but they ran some tests to my cable modem and determined that my internet connection from them had been uninterrupted for about a week and the IP address had not changed.
So, they thought that my router settings might be off. I am confused because it wasn't happening and now it is. So something has changed.
The router is a Lynksys WRT54GSv.5 I have had it for about 4 months and the problem just started in the last month. I have no idea what to look for to solve this problem.
Then I also wondered if this could be symptomatic of some type of virus.
