I have recently aquired a Nokia 7260 phone and need to re-set the lifetime clock to 000000.00. I understand that there is a code needed and need to know a good programme to enable me to do this ..... hope this is in the right forum, thanks in advance.

Why would you want to reset the lifetime clock? Unless you're going to sell it and pretend it's new...

I am not going to sell it, I have only just got it but need to re-set it for work purposes - is that a problem oracle 128 ? Any help would be appreciated ....

What you want to do involves removing the non-volatile memory chip, jacking it into a computer, downloading the firmware, reverse-engineering it, then uploading it and replacing the chip. So yes, it is a problem. That, and that the only possible reason for doing so is for deception.

My last word on the subject to you oracle128 - I do not take lightly to being acused of deception, as I explained I need to re-set the phone for my work, I am not selling it and to be honest what benefit would it be to re-set the time? Anyone can see it would be a 2nd hand phone, the time used would surely not be an issue to the buyer - all I was asking for was some help - not to be involved in a forum argument ....
P.S. As far as I know only a code is needed to re-set the time not all that complicated work you explained ?

Check the links in the right-hand box - a few hundred to choose from, but your answer may lie there.
If not, post back.

Many thanks for your reply, sadly I clicked on your link and could find nothing about being able to re-set the time (as the link took me to an official Nokia document)
Thank you, and any further help would be appreciated.

OK, so you wouldn't mind explaining why you want to do it then? ("for work" isn't an explanation).
You do realize that what you're asking is essentially equivalent to asking for instructions on winding back a car's odometer, right?

I appreciate your reply/comments black mirror and fully understand the forums rules but I am not doing anything 'illegal' - it was just a simple request and if there is a problem then so be it. It was the manner in which oracle128 put his comments .... now this is my LAST word on the subject and if I could I would delete the original question as it seems to have sturred up a hornets nest, I do hope someone can help me but if not then I will have to try elsewhere, zipulrich tried and I hope he might be able to help further with the link.
