problem with ics and an xbox 360 (not sure if this is the correct place to post)

i have an xbox 360 connected through ics to my computer. i can connect to the internet (xbox live) fine. the problem is streaming media from my comp to my 360. i just recently installed wmp 11 beta 2 with has built in media sharing capabilities. this worked in the beginning, but a after a blackout my media streaming stopped working.

any help would be appreciated

(plz move if this is in the worng thread)

try to download some of this doctor tcp thinggy, lower down your mtu (maximum transmit unit) to 1440 or try experimenting with other mtu settings. you may also want to research on UDP, stricting UDP sessions. most of the game servers are running on UDP.

i have the correct udp ports open, but i tried pinging the xbox's ip and the erquest timed out. i dont know what that means

What OS are you running ICS on?

XP SP2, but don't worry about it. i called microsoft's wmp beta support # and they said that streaming from wmp 11 is still a problem. it didnt have anything to do with my connection. i am back up and running on wmc 2.0. thanks for the response. you too cramer
