Hey,
I was wondering if there was a program out there that locks up my computer with a password so I can step away from my computer while it's still logged on. I want to be able to leave my computer and not worry about not having anyone messing around with it (ei: annoying brother that has his own computer)

Howdy:
You could put a password on the screensaver..

Could just do Alt-Ctrl-Del and choose Lock. That uses your user password, so be sure to remember it. Anyone remember the days when the little lock on the front of the computer locked out the keyboard?

I don't see "lock" in the task manager... and I want to be able to lock up my comp without loging out. I want to keep my downloads active.
Thnx btw

It ought to be there... oh well. I just searched the internet for 'Keyboard locking software' and got a lot of hits for software that does what you are looking for, probably some freeware in there somewhere.

best bet would be the password on the screen saver.

Yeah, but then he has to wait for the screensaver to kick in before he can leave the computer... (annoying brother) Can you think of a way to manually trip the screensaver?

Add a password to your account and enable Fast User Switching.
When you want to lock the screen press Windows Key + L and it will show the Welcome Screen.
Your programs will still be running.
