Hello,

We originally made a post about the problem here, and Moderator Tom said we should try here because he didn't feel it was infection related. The problem is, whenever we try to play a dvd on E: drive (My DVD drive) it will disconnect the internet (The internet is a 56k on this computer) and the internet will reconnect however it will not work and disconnect shortly after reconnection until the DVD program is closed. It does this with EVERY DVD program we have tried. It will let us play normal CDs fine, CD programs, Music CDs, etc, but it will do this whenever we play DVDs.

Well maybe it has something to do with CPU usage. Fire up Task Manager and take a look under Performance.

On my rig I idle at about 2-3%. When playing a CD (I use QCD as my player) it barely changes, maybe hitting 10-12% occasionally. With DVDs though depending on the app it might be between 30-40%. Are you seeing similar numbers?

You might also want to consider something along these lines:

First of all, Billy_Black thank you for replying.

Secondly, no, it stays normal when viewing DVDs. It just simply loses connection after a minute and won't work until the DVD program (any) is closed. I have tried both of the programs you listed just now and neither helped, the Lspfixed said "no problems found" as well. Any ideas?

Hmm... are you using the connection (surfing, downloading) or is it idle while you play a DVD?

Both, it'll d/c the connection either way.
