Making Backup Program CD

Hi, I bought a neat educational program that is contained all within a CD for my kids. Turns out the CD is required in the drive all the time for them to use the program. I would like to either copy it to the hard drive or make a backup copy of it to protect my investment so it doesn't get scratched or broken as they aren't so good at keeping CDs in pristine condition.

So I tried to copy the disk to the C drive and then install from there. The kid's computers are windows 98 and give an error message that you cannot copy this type of content.

I went to my computer (Windows XP) and used Nero burner to "Copy Disk" (after that failed I also attempted to make a data disk and that failed too). Nero burner says the disk is ISO 9660 Joliet (Mode 2) and that it is copyrighted...when you try to copy anyway it fails before completing the burn. The resulting disk looks like it has all the files as the original but it does not run (not autorun or manual starting thru "my computer" etc.

I attempted to get support from the manufacture of the program but they don't seem to have support, or at least not in English. The original program is expensive enough I wouldn't want to have to buy a new copy every week for the kids if it gets scratched or broken.

What do I do? What else can I try? I'm not trying to scam the original company out of anything--just trying to protect my investment.

Thanks

We do not support cracking software. CD Emulators are legal software and are on the limit of what we will support.
