I came home today to a blue screen. I tried to restart but it goes to bios and doesn't detect either of my harddrives then comes to the Disk boot failure, insert system disk.

I started it with the win2K cd went to the recovery console did a chkdsk /f but did not help. I was able to see my files but couldn't fixmbr.

I have numerouse files that are not replaceable can anyone please help?

OK, I unplugged the 2nd harddrive and the system booted fine. I am guessing that the 2nd harddrive is making it not boot is there a way to get my files off the 2nd drive the try to formatt it?

It sounds like the drive has failed.

Can you see it in the BIOS settings under devices?

The drive did fail, luckily it is covered under warranty. I was just wondering if I could get the stuff off the drive but it's not responding at all so I guess it's all gone. :cry2:

Drive data recovery bills are in the thousands ($,$$$.$$) for companies that recover data from drive platters.
Most people don't put that value on their personal data.
