Hello. I recently set up a wireless network at my apartment. D-Link router and a Trendnet internal PCI wireless card. According to the configuration utility for the wireless card, i'm getting a strong signal, strength and quality, but when i play online (world of warcraft) i still get alot of lag.

any ideas to what it could be? the router is in the room right next to the one my PC is in. Also, we have the data encrypted so maybe that could be it? any help is appreciated.

Wireless network are extremely suseptible to interference. Wireless phones, some cell phones, microwave ovens, tv's, etc... not to mention interference from other wireless networks. Try changing the channel your wireless network uses to 1 or 11. If that doesn't help, try something obscure like 3,4,7, or 8. (There is only 11 channels, 1 and 11 being the most open and used and 6 being a default for many routers.)

If the encryption is an easy to guess password someone may be hopping on your internet. Also. Even with fast cable my friend's WoW game still lags sometimes. Espically on servers like Arie Peak. Might be server side lag, not you.
