GeCube ATI Radeon 1300x w/ 16 colors max--Help!

I purchased the aforementioned video card and installed all the software but my monitor will only recognize 16 color, 640-480 mode. Further, I can use my monitor with it plugged into the new video card but Device Manager does not show my card under Display Adapters or under the 'troubled hardware' section. The only device I'm not 100% sure what it is is a multi media audio device but I highly doubt that that is my video card.

I realize that this is a stupid problem and I have fixed issues like this in the past without incident but with this I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you uninstall the old video driver, before installing the new one ?

Might be worth starting over and uninstalling the Video Card in Device Mangler, then reboot and let XP redetect it and then install drivers.
