Microsoft Word Shutdown (Moved by Murf)

My computers Microsoft Word file disappeared and when i try opening a word document the computer shuts down by itself and restarts. On the screen there is a message that it has recovered from a serious problem. I have already installed Microsoft Word again. Anyone know what the problem might be?

Sorry no one replied, I am moving this to our Software Applications forum where you will get the help needed. It is not a XP problem but a Office problem..

Try opening word in safe mode.

You can do this by starting word through the run line with a /s switch.

"winword /safe"

Thanks for the reply. I checked that it opened in safe mode and was able to fix it by running system restore and upgrading windows XP.
