The final major pre-release of Windows Vista—Release Candidate 1 (RC1)—is now available for priority access by Customer Preview Program (CPP) participants only. If you registered for this program in June, please look for a recent e-mail message from Microsoft (sent in early September) with information regarding RC1. If you are not registered but would like to receive Windows Vista RC1, the CPP will open to new participants in the coming weeks.

Usually needs a few attempts - the MS download sites are usually flat out 24/7.

Has anyone installed it yet? My download is on 70% so will be installing it soon over the beta. I wonder if there is any drivers for my Avermedia TV card yet....

Plan on installing it some time this week. Got a few servers to build and a new AD tree to add to the domain, so may be a bit busy for a few days :-(

I tried downloading it awhile back.. Just takes forever even on a 6/mb connection plus need their download manager. So I just ordered the DVDs this way there is no chance for a bad download. Ya you pay 10 bucks but you get all the releases until 2007! But still does not support squat in the way of real world drivers.

Just finished the download after a couple of hours but it said something about the integrity being questionable, MD5 mismatch or something along those lines. Restarting the dowload now.

The download is an iso, which needs burning to a DVDR with Nero or similar.
If you registered in June and received a product key for the beta, you can use this for RC1.

Yes you can use it. Hoping that was a question?

As of right now it does support my ati driver and audio driver. I think one firewall is vista ready.

And it runs real slow for about 24 hours while it indexes your entire pc. The runs pretty smooth,

On my system it eats about 25% of the first core for the first 24 hours. Then down to 0% but takes (just to run with all eye candy on) around 572 megs of ram
