disk recovery

are there any programs out there that can help fix a corrupted NTFS HDD using linux??
more details will be given if necessary.

You can go to the drive manufactures web site and download their diagnostic tools. The tool will fit on a floppy disk. You can run the tool to get a evaluation of the drive or write zeros to the drive wiping out all data. If the drive passes the evaluation, you can reformat the drive.
