transfering a program from computer to computer
my company just bought new laptops for our service techs.......on the old laptops, we had all the programs we needed....when i go to install them on the new laptops, the program needs internet explorer 5.1 or greater to install.....these computers don't have 5.1 they have an older version (computer bought referbuished).....the computers DO NOT have any access to the internet.....the reason we bought used computers is because the programs we need to use on these computers will not work with windows xp, only 2000 NT or older.....
is there a way to get them to have 5.1 on them? i tried copying it to a floppy from another computer but that didn't work.......i tried copying the installation program on the floppy and installing the new explorer but that didn't work either.....is there a connection cable to hook them together and transfer programs? |

You can get the full installtion files for older versions of Internet Explorer - 5.0 and 5.5 - from www.oldversion.com. However, that site seems to be down right now.
Click Here to open a page with step-by-step instructions on downloading Internet Explorer 6 in full. Once you have it, just burn the contents of the folder to CD and use the CD to install IE6. |
