I'm trying to clean up a hard drive. On it is a program
AT&T IM Anywhere. I want to uninstall this program and get it off
the computer. When I go to "My Computer" and click Change/Remove it looks like it is going to uninstall and then it pops up a message "Can not find Install.log file"
I"ve gone into the MSCONFIG and unchecked it in the Start up Menu so that it won't but can't uncheck it unless I have "Selective Startup" checked.
I would like to get the program off the computer...How do I get it off so that it will not keep starting up everytime I boot it up?
I looked in the AT&T folder and there isn't anything called Unwise.exe or unistall.exe that I can use to uninstall it that way. tumped..

Computer is HP Brio running Windows XP, 512 MB ram.
thanks
Barbara

If you have the program still .... try installing it over the existing version and then try uninstalling.

No sure don't have the program. Am I stuck leaving it on the hard drive. If that's the case...how do I keep it from continually coming up when I boot? Do I need to leave "Selective Startup checked" on the System Configuration in order to uncheck the AT&T from the Startup?
thanks,
Barbara

Yes, let it use Selective Startup. That only means you've selected something not to start up. Next time you see the selective startup warning message, check the box in the lower left corner about not showing the message again and click OK.

Thanks,
I'll do that for now. In Windows 98, you just unselect something you dont want to keep coming up and it is okay...but with Windows XP, I noticed it changes that System Configuration to Selective... I thought I better check and make sure I wasnt messing something up.. I am trying to help a friend clean up her computer and sure didn't want to mess it up.
appreciate it a lot
Have a wonderful day.
