I have Windows media player installed and it will play movie, clips, audio. But when I try to play anything from a web page, like Amazion - to listen to part of a song or view a clip, it will open but will not play. Sometimes it will say that it can't find the file, but most times it just does nothing. I tired uninstalling and installing version 9 again but it does the same thing.
Thanks for any help.:dizzy:

Howdy treesaver,
Almost sounds like a codec problem

Also if you open WMP go to tolls, what does it say under connections?
Also did you let your firewall let it past it scan's?

I went to tolls(tools) and there is nothing to do with connections. The only thing in that tab is Downloads, Apply media connections, Plugins, and Options.
The only thing under options that has to do with connections is Connection Speeds. I have checked DETECT CONNECTION SPEED.
I just tried your suggestion about the Firewall. It was set to block Media player. It now works in Internet Explorer but still doesn't work with FireFox.
I will go to their site and find out why.
Thanks so much. Also I downloaded some codexes I didn't have.

With firefox you will have to download the codecs and move them into the codec folder. Thats all
Glad it was only a firewall problem!!
