how do take that symbol out??

I think you can right click on it and click cut.
That symbol will not show up in the finished
document,it's just there to show where the paragraph starts.

That's a paragraph mark made visible by toggling it on and off with a button on the toolbar. The button you're looking for will have that same mark on it.

The button should appear if you click on the darker area .below and slightly to the right of the word Help (directly to the right of that bright green symbol). That will show all the toobar buttons there's not enough room to display on the toolbar itself. Find the one with that same paragraph mark on it and click it.
