network error

When I try and connect to my computer from my remote computer I click on "entire network" and it says it can't be accessed. I have been through the troubleshooter any suggestions?

You'll need to provide a description of:
1. How you're connected physically? and
2. What are all your network settings in the Network Utility in the Control Panel?

I tried reinstalling windows and that fixed it. The first time I tried to run network wizard i got an error when it finished but it seemed to work, but it wouldn't let me access the network, so i just decided to try and reinstall windows. I think it was a problem with a .386 file but i'm not sure.
