Have such big signatures like the following...

Motherboard - Supermicro X7DAL-E
Processor1 - Intel Xeon 5160 Active 3GHz 4MB
Processor2 - Intel Xeon 5160 Passive 3GHz 4MB
RAM - 4x Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-5300 1gb
Graphics - GeForce 7900GTX 512MB
Sound - Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty
Hard Drive - 4x 750gb Seagate SATA 300
Optical Drives - Plextor Blu-Ray, Sony DVD\RW
PSU - Tagan 700w - Dual Engine

To top it all the above one also has images placed below it too, as if the text alone doesn't mean enough scrolling!! Don't folks realize that they can add their computer specs in their "My Control Panel"? Why do they have to add each spec underneath one another rather than next to each other!!

Perhaps
because
it
looks so
impressive
that
way

It's even worse on some sites where they have pictures as well.

In addition to "mine is better than yours," it gets to show everybody that they know how to center text, use the pretty colors and add graphics.

To me, it looks like a "form over content" sort of thing. ;)

Lets' see, I could do one of those "Hey! Lookee what I got!" sigs:

Motherboard - Has a pretty green light!
Processor 1 - They tell me it's really, really fast!
Processor 2 - Cuisinart
RAM - Golden contacts!
Graphics - Has its own fan!!
Sound - Adjustable
Hard Drive - Has a really neat blinking light!
Optical Drives - Yes, I can see them
PSU - Has its own fan, too!

LOL!!!

Or maybe..............Look where my maxed out credit card got me!! :p

But getting back to my point, I was meaning more on the lines of the size of signatures here.

Notice mine? Just wrap them in [size=1] tags :)

This could be fixed somehow if only 2 lines of text were allowed as signature or if there was a restriction allowing certain number of lines in signature.

So, instead of helping people, we ***** about their sigs. Now I understand. How does it hurt any of you if someone makes a sig? Cause you don't like it? Try concentrating on helping people and less on getting mad about freedom of expression and maybe, just maybe, more posts would be replied to.

Awwwww kaveman1969, I haven't heard from you since This Particular Thread (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123228).

I see you have 40 posts here, the thread above shows it started a couple of months ago so let's look at it this way, since that post thread, how much have you actually spent trying to help others? Not a lot judging by your post count, yet you can spend time criticising posts that are here in the Comments And Suggestions forum!!

Just for the record, the criticism I had posted had nothing to do with freedom of expression, it merely had something to do with the actual size of the signatures, not the content!!

I simply posted an observation. You are the expert not I. Yet, I don't waste peoples time when they're waiting for an answer by dickering over a sig.. But, hey, you know all...

You just did, you replied to this post showing that you took YOUR time to read the post thread, thus taking other folks time to read it also....remember, this is a COMMENTS AND SUGGESTION forum!!

Now you're taking this whole thing back to the thread you created a couple of months ago.

As was pointed out in your first post thread, CTH is here to try helping anyone with computer problems, it was also made clear that this is done purely on a "voluntary" basis. It's not a "given" that every question can be answered, but you can be sure that here at CTH if questions can be answered, they will be by folks who "voluntarily" give up THEIR own free time!!

If all this bothers you so much here at CTH, go find a better forum set up and get what you want/need from them.........You'll be "pushed" to find one, they wouldn't tolerate the crap you're giving out here!!

Dave, ignore the Troll. It's not our fault he thinks 'free' isn't good enough.

I think I will start posing the specs for all five of my computers in my signature. :rotflmao:

Seriously, if the person is asking for help, I am glad its there. Sometimes its a pain to get to the profile to check their specs when they are asking for help especially when using popup blockers. Too many clicks - me iz click lazy.
