microsoft word 2000

a friend of mine borrowed my disc and downloaded the copy of word 2000 to his computer. after using a floppy between both his and my computer, he rebooted to find that many of his files were inaccessible, icons no longer worked, etc. he believes this to be due to the word 2000 use. he can no longer even get his restart disc to be recognised and all his files are now configured for word 2000 and he can't retrieve any of them.

is this the true problem? is there a way to get the files? is there a way to reset the system to a recent date, pre-word 2000? what do you think?

Geez. I'm torn as to how to answer this as I can't find the TOS for this board to quote at the moment. Anyone better in the know feel free to post here.

It's obvious that your friend using your disc is in fact illegal. I'm not sure what the Terms Of Service for this forum says exactly, but I don't think that your question can be answered knowing it would be contributing to illegal use of the software.

Hope someone can back me up on that.

You can not "install" your Word2000 on more than one computer.
It violates the license you got upon purchasing the software.
It also violates the TOS (Terms Of Service) at Cyber Tech Help.
