Hi there,

I am running OS Windows ME on my computer. In Device Manager I have 2 USB Root Hubs both showing yellow exclamation marks. On opening these it says under General tab: "The NTKERN.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2)

This problem must have happened after I reinstalled Windows ME onto my computer to pick up a missing DLL file (probably lost from uninstalling a program). I have the missing file reinstalled onto my computer but now notice that I am not able to use my printer which is a HP Deskjet 5160 printer connected to the USB Port. I also cannot upload photos from my newly purchased digital camera using the USB port. Can you help please?

My knowlege of computers is really basic but I'm willing to try anything.

My Computer specs are:- OS Windows ME,
Pentium 111 Processor, Genuine Intel 864 Mhz,
BIOS v6.0
111.50 MB RAM

Thank you.

Howdy and welcome to CTH:

After you formatted and re-installed ME, did you re-install the drivers for the USB??

Those should either be on your systemboard driver cd you should have received with your system or available from the system manufacturers website..
