Video CARD HELP??

ok well i have an old diamond video card which the moniter is currently conected to, well i have a newer cannopus 3dfx card which is also installed, but i cant seem to play my 3dfx games, my guess is the diamond card is the primarey card, the moniter wont read out the connopus video card, so how do i make the cannopus my primary video card and display adapter?? I already have the cannopus card installed .......

Do both display adapters show up in Device Manager? If so, try disabling the Diamond adapter in Device Manager after you hook up your monitor to the cannopus adapter and then restart your computer.

the diamond shows up in the display adapter, but the cannopus does not, how would i go about gettin the cannopus as a display adapter??

Not having run with two separate display adapters myself, I'm just hazarding guesses here..........did you do the Add New Hardware thingie for the cannopus and install the drivers for it?

take out old card and leave new one in. Or go into the display properties then the settings tab and see if it shows you both monitirs. If it does you can designate which monitor you would like to be your primary display monitor. At that point you can access all of the 3d settings for that card by hitting the "Advanced" button. That is assuming all of the drivers are loaded for your video card.

well weird thing is, when i am windows i have to plug the moniter into my diamond card, when i am playin 3dfx games i have to plug in my moniter into the cannopus card, i tried takin out the diamond card and startin the computer with the cannpous in its place, but nothing would pop up on the moniter

When you take out the diamond card and reboot the pc, do you get any beeps? If you do get beeps (this is a process called P.O.S.T. - Power On Self Test) then click on this link http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm to see what the beeps mean. Different beeps mean different things. You can then put the card back in and post back here and tell us what you are receiving as far as beeps go. If you don't get any beeps put the diamond card back in and let us know and we can try another route.
