Unhappy PC shuts itself down

My computer randomly shuts itself down, sometimes it shows the blue screen other times it just shuts down and restarts. I am using Windows 2000 and have not added anything to the pc recently. I use Blueyonder pc guard, provided by my broadband provider, this has antivirus protection, a firewall, antispyware, Identity theft protection, popup blocker etc. It is a pain as I never know when it will close down and I have lost many hours of work because of it. Please help me!

I think I might know what's up. But for just to be sure: Run a FULL anti-virus sweep with the next update. If this does not prove successful, make sure you have all the vital software on CD. If not, burn it onto a CD. Also save any important files onto a CD too. Then reinstal Windows. It's easy, wont take long.
If the reboots and trouble persists, let me know the following:
How much RAM you have, how many sticks, what format (if you know)
Motherboard info
And your Hard Drive(s)

As much info as you can give me.
